Dupont Circle Coffee Retailer Hosts Valentine’s Day Grand Opening Event

WASHINGTON - Move over candy hearts and chocolate kisses, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® is giving a very special Valentine's Day gift to D.C. residents this year. Providing guests with a caffeinated jumpstart to the romantic holiday, the area's first location, nestled in the Dupont Circle neighborhood just steps inside Washington Hilton's lobby off of Connecticut Avenue, will host a three-hour grand opening event on Tuesday, February 14. All guests will be among the first in the city to try the new products, and 12  lucky winners will be awarded a month's worth of free coffee and tea.

Beginning at 7:00 a.m., the public grand opening event will kick off with a ribbon cutting hosted by executives from Hilton Hotels & Resorts and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® as well as dignitaries from both D.C. and California, where the coffee retailer is based.  Throughout the morning, guests are invited to mix and mingle with neighbors while sampling a variety of signature coffee blends, whole leaf teas and breakfast treats. Everyone will have the opportunity to test their Valentine's Day luck by playing the "golden heart" giveaway, where 12 golden heart stickers will be placed on the bottom of random sampling cups. Guests who find a golden heart sticker will win a gift of  a free coffee or tea beverage a day for a month  exclusively at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® location at Washington Hilton.

For those arriving by vehicle, Washington Hilton will have a few designated parking spots inside the circular drive off of the main entrance on Connecticut Avenue, NW for short-term parking access so guests can slip in and grab their favorite beverage for the ride to work.

Service will continue on Valentine's Day from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® will be open for all-day service from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. initially, with extended hours to be implemented at a later date. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® offers a variety of the finest grades of Arabica coffee and hand-plucked whole leaf teas that have been delighting constituents of every persuasion for almost 50 years. The nearly 1,700 square foot location offers free wi-fi to customers and ample seating to accommodate groups, with seating for nearly 70 among seats inside the shop and in the adjacent Washington Hilton lobby, complete with communal tables and electric outlets. In the spring, guests can take their coffee to Heights Courtyard, which has more than 70 seats including oversized outdoor sofas, coffee tables, a soothing water feature and fire pits.
