Creole Creations with Island Kitchen at Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa
April 24, 2015
SEYCHELLES - Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa invites guests to experience the unique 'Island Kitchen' weekly culinary event at the historic Grann Kaz Restaurant, great for families and couples alike. These cooking classes provide a taste of the vibrant flavours of Seychellois cuisine, using fresh, local ingredients. Guests are taught, in a two-hour class about how to create a traditional Creole three course lunch, prepared and enjoyed in the surrounding lush tropical gardens of the restored 150-year-old plantation house.
Taught by Executive Chef Heshan Peiris, guests can explore Seychelles' culinary heritage, whilst experimenting with flavour combinations, colours, textures and cooking methods to create their own reinvention of creole classics, with a modern twist. Examples of dishes include Octopus Curry, Smoked Marlin and Young Coconut Salad with Salted Cucumber and many more exotic specialties. To complete this creole experience, guests can enjoy the fruits of their labor surrounded by the majestic views of Mount Dauban and Grann Kaz. This truly unique experience allows guests to take home a real piece of Seychelles with them.
Island Kitchen started in November 2014 as a cooking show on YouTube and social media platforms, allowing Chef Heshan to share his passion for Creole cuisine. Since then, Island Kitchen has grown into a full culinary experience for guests to learn, aiming to put local Creole food onto the world scene, through innovation and reinvention of the cuisine's classic dishes. Blending modern Seychellois spirit with an old-fashion ambience and drawing on the rich history of the Seychelles.
Claus Steiner, cluster general manager, Hilton Seychelles, said, "Island Kitchen and Hilton Seychelles invites guests to truly experience the heritage of Seychelles, where we believe guests will return from their holidays richer in experience."
Escape into another world on Silhouette Island and discover creole cuisine at its finest.
