BIRMINGHAM, UK - Members of staff from Hilton Birmingham Metropole will cycle from Hilton Puckrup Hall in Tewkesbury back to the hotel, based at the National Exhibition Centre, on Saturday 11th June as part of their annual “Around the World in a Day” event. All proceeds raised from the cycling challenge will be donated to local charity Cyclists Fighting Cancer.

The “magnificent seven” Chrissy Dunkley, Aaron Baker, Denise Fitzharris, Sean Guest, Leanda Pike and Chris Shilton, have been training hard and raising the much needed funding for Cyclists Fighting Cancer and are now in the final stages of preparation for their 53 mile challenge.

Cyclists Fighting Cancer donate bikes, specially adapted tricycles and tandems to children and young people affected by cancer, what better way to encourage kids and teenagers to get active again after what can be years of treatment and hospitalisation. It is especially effective for those children who have permanent conditions such as lost limbs, sense of balance, muscle weakness and co-ordination.

Patrick Stapleton, general manager commented, “The cyclists have already raised some much needed money for CFC and in this final week we’re really pushing to meet our target. We’re also hosting a charity barbecue so it will be a great day for all involved.”
