With vacation days expiring for many workers at the end of the year, Hilton Hotels & Resorts announces “International Use It or Lose It Week,” a holiday campaign from November 18 – 22, 2013, that encourages working professionals everywhere to use their hard-earned vacation days and enjoy leisure time with friends and family this holiday season. The campaign is part of a larger effort by Hilton Worldwide’s flagship brand to combat “Vacationitis,” defined as an “epidemic creating high levels of stress and claiming countless hours of unused vacation time as it spreads among employees who have not taken enough time off this year.” Patients can seek emergency care, including the chance to win one of 15 weekend getaways, at www.vacationcarecenter.hilton.com.
A new Hilton Hotels & Resorts study reveals that 4.5 million people are losing more than six days of annual leave each year, due to reasons including being worried about losing their job or looking bad in front of their boss. One in 20 even admitted they take just half of the time off they are entitled to, saying that using every day of their annual leave is frowned upon in their workplace. These results show that Britain’s workforce is suffering from Vacationitis – a condition coined earlier this year by Hilton and affecting those who fail to take enough time off from work. Hilton is encouraging employees to check their annual leave balance during “International Use it or Lose it Week”, November 18 – 22, to combat this global epidemic.
With the federal government shutdown curtailing travel plans for thousands bound for the Grand Canyon, the family-friendly Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort in Phoenix is welcoming sidelined travelers with a Grand Canyon Back-up Plan package.
Come to Whistler in late November and early December and you will quickly find out what the locals already know - it should be considered peak season! The snow, the prices and the weather are welcoming, but yet the lift lines and crowds are non-existent. To add to the experience, guests now have a chance to win big just by booking with Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa. For all "Ski & Stay" packages booked to stay between the Whistler Blackcomb opening of November 28, 2013 and December 21, 2013, guests will receive one contest entry for the opportunity to win a two night stay in a luxurious suite at Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa during the 2013/14 winter season and a Whistler Heli-Ski Classic Experience package for two adults ($4000 package value).
