Serving Up 'The Twelve Drinks Of Christmas'

Since joining Hilton in November 2009 life has been pretty hectic with 2010 being one of the busiest yet.  It's been a fantastic year for me and I've even picked up a few accolades along the way. I recently secured first place in the Absolut Vodka cocktail competition for London and second place in the national finals. I also won third place at the Akvinta Grand Prix 2010 at the London Heat, competing against 40 other top-class bartenders from the most spectacular venues in London.

When I heard about The Twelve Drinks of Christmas initiative it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. It was a chance to fulfill my passion, use my skills and to work with my talented colleague, Daniel Carvalho, to create twelve delicious cocktails taking inspiration from The Twelve Days of Christmas song.  We utilised the most delicious seasonal flavours, with drinks created mainly using dark spirits like rum, whisky or cognac - well known for their richness and full flavour.  And we added seasonal notes like cinnamon, coffee or delectable port wine to emphasise the Christmas aspect of the campaign.

The twelve cocktails turned out to be a great success with media when we launched them at an exclusive media event at The Waldorf, London on Monday 6th December. The cocktails will now be served in 16 hotels across the UK.

I have since been invited to attend a two day bartender seminar in Portugal in the New Year - what else can I ask for?! But enough from me - Merry Christmas everyone and be sure to try at least one of The Twelve Drinks of Christmas!
