Ring In The New Year With An Exciting Lineup Of Stars At Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort
December 10, 2015
HONOLULU - Ignite your New Year's Eve at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort's annual celebration. This year, revelers will be treated to top-notch local and international acts and an indulgent menu at the resort's New Year's Eve dinner concert in the Coral Ballroom.
Opening the evening in classic island-fashion will be Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-winning group Maunalua. The group's members Bobby Moderow Jr., Kahi Kaonohi, and Richard Gideon will bring Maunalua's tradition of blending unique harmonies, kī hōʻalu (slack key) guitar, and ʻukulele to the stage. Taking the spotlight next is Japan-based entertainer and impersonator Corokke, performing Japanese pop hits and standards from the past. Lastly, the show slips into surf-rock fun with The Dukes of Surf and their team of dancers. The group's fresh take on the classic surf-rock sound has earned them the rock album of the year award at the 2013 Nā Hōkū Hanohano awards and international acclaim in Japan.
Complementing the great entertainment is a menu that is just as spectacular:
- Marinated Kampachi
with hearts of palm, sea asparagus, radish yuzu vinaigrette
- Filet Mignon and Butter-Poached Maine Lobster
Cabernet sauvignon sauce and herb crema
Petit vegetables and ali‘i mushrooms
- Sparkling Strawberry Champagne Trifle
Guava Champagne macaroon
Doors open at 7 p.m. for dinner service and the concert starts with Maunalua at 8:15 p.m., followed by Corokke. The evening's headliners, The Dukes of Surf, take the stage at 10:45 and will ring in 2016.
The dinner show is priced at $285 plus tax for adults and $255 plus tax for children 4 to 11 years. Included in the price are one beverage and a split of champagne for adults.

About The Dukes of Surf
The Dukes of Surf is a sunny, surf-rock band based in Honolulu, Hawaii. Members JP, Fish and Jimmy grew up in different beach towns across the USA and share a love for sun, sand, surf, wahines, and rock ‘n roll. They debuted in Japan in 2013 under JVC Victor Entertainment and Sony Music Publishing. Their self-titled debut album was nominated for Rock Album of the Year at the 2013 Na Hoku Hanohano awards, considered the "Grammy Awards of Hawaii." Their debut single, "Waikiki" soared to the top of Japan music charts and was called a "smash hit" by Japanese music critics. "Aloha Christmas," which was their follow-up winter single, was picked up by McDonalds in Germany and played on heavy rotation in their over 1,200 locations during the 2013 Christmas Season. The Dukes of Surf have a fresh take on a classic sound.
Corokke is celebrating 35 years of entertaining this year. His line-up has grown to more than 300 impersonations, which includes a robot version and hip hop dancers. He has performed in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Beijing. He has won numerous awards in Japan including the Golden Arrow Award presented by the members of the Japan Magazine Publishers Association (JMPA), which recognizes excellence in film, television, and music. He is best known for his impersonations of Kenichi Mikawa, Mori Shinichi, and Hiromi Iwasaki and even though impersonation is his forte, he also acts in movies and dramas.
Bobby Moderow, Jr., Kahi Kaonohi, and Richard Gideon are the men of Maunalua. Formed in 1993, their first album was introduced in 2000 and garnered Hawaiian Album of the Year at the Na Hoku Hanohano awards, considered the "Grammy Awards of Hawaii."
