New Role for Hilton Glasgow General Manager

Craig Gardner takes the helm as area manager for additional six properties across UK & Ireland

GLASGOW, Scotland - Hilton Worldwide has today announced the promotion of respected Hilton Glasgow general manager, Craig Gardner, to area general manager for selected properties in Scotland, the north of England and Northern Ireland.

The move will see Gardner maintain his position as general manager of Hilton Glasgow, where he has led the business since January 2005, and oversee Caledonian Hilton which is being upgraded to a Waldorf Astoria Hotel later this year; Hilton Templepatrick (Northern Ireland); Hilton Dublin; Hilton Manchester Deansgate; Hilton Newcastle Gateshead and Hilton Liverpool.

Announcing the appointment, John Rogers, vice president operation UK, Hilton Worldwide, said, "We are delighted to appoint Craig Gardner to the position of area general manager for a selected portfolio of seven properties across Scotland, the north of England and Northern Ireland. Craig is well respected within the industry and brings a wealth of expertise to the position."

Craig will maintain his position as general manager of Hilton Glasgow, which is currently undertaking a major £1.5 million refurbishment.

I will continue to be based at Hilton Glasgow and am delighted the new role allows me to maintain my position here while overseeing these fantastic properties from the Hilton Worldwide portfolio."
