KARON BEACH, Thailand - Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa today announced the appointment of Markus Kaliss as general manager. With more than 20 years management experience in operations, revenue management, and business development, Mr. Kaliss brings a wealth of international hotel management experience to the island's largest resort. Kaliss will oversee all aspects of the resort's development and operation leading the Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa team to deliver the highest standards of hospitality that the brand is well known for, as well as give back to the community and society in which the business operates.

Before his move to Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa, Kaliss was the general manager for DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta Diponegoro in Indonesia and DoubleTree by Hilton Wuxi Lingshan in China. With proven success, Markus received several awards including DoubleTree by Hilton Outstanding Achievement Award in 2013 and DoubleTree by Hilton Community CARE Award in 2013. Prior to his role as general manager, Kaliss had extensive experience serving as director of business development at Hilton Petaling Jaya in Malaysia, director of operations at Hilton Hefei in China and acting resident manager and revenue manager at Conrad Maldives. Originally from Germany, Kaliss spent the last 18 years working within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio of brands. Through his experience in the industry and with different cultures, he has built up profound knowledge and understanding of the field.
