ORLANDO - After just one year on staff, Hilton Orlando's Chef Kevin Spencer left David's Club Bar & Grill - a casual gastro pub that specializes in modern twists on classic comfort foods - to become the new chef at the landmark Spencer's for Steaks and Chops restaurant. The resort's signature steakhouse was recently recognized by the Orlando Sentinel as the critic's choice for best hotel restaurant, and is currently ranked within the top 25 restaurants in Orlando by TripAdvisor.com. Spencer brings his passion for local and organic foods and a personal interest in art to the table to create innovative combinations that define the progressive experience found at Spencer's.

"When Kevin became a part of our Hilton family last year we were blown away by his natural culinary talents and his creativity. We are extremely excited to see what he will add to the Spencer's menu," said Doug Gehret, general manager, Hilton Orlando. "Most recently, he collaborated with our food and beverage director to introduce a new line of breakfast cocktails that have Froot Loops teaming up with Bacardi rum, and chocolate covered bacon garnishing brown sugar-infused bourbon. That's the type of imagination we aim to bring our guests."

Originally from Rochester, N.Y., Spencer honed his culinary talent at several fine dining locations including Roy's Restaurant and a signature restaurant at the Walt Disney World® Resort.

"My philosophy is all about having fun in the kitchen," said Chef Spencer. "I have found through my experiences that one of the most important components in running a successful restaurant with satisfied customers is creating an experience that combines fun with delicious - both on the plate and in the restaurant's atmosphere."

Hilton Orlando is quickly becoming regarded as one of the top places to work in Central Florida and was recognized for this achievement by the Orlando Business Journal, ranking second in its annual poll of top Orlando employers. Hilton Orlando was the highest ranked hotel chain on the list. The resort is rated as a AAA Four Diamond hotel and has consistently ranked within the top three Orlando-area hotels on TripAdvisor.com rankings.
