Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort Tuesday night fireworks show ended Nov. 5, 2013, but the hotel's Friday night fireworks, a 25-year tradition, continues into 2014.

HONOLULU - Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort has announced the addition of a Tuesday fireworks show to its entertainment offerings complementing its current Friday night fireworks show. When it launches on August 6, the Fireworks Spectacular on Tuesday evenings will feature a new 15-minute dance performance by Tihati Productions at 7:45 p.m., followed by the fireworks at 8 p.m. The performance will be a more contemporary show than the resort's Rockin' Hawaiian Rainbow Revue, which precedes the Friday night fireworks show.

"Because of the typical length of stay for our guests, many of them are not here on a Friday night," said Jerry Gibson, area vice president for Hilton Hawaii. "Now nearly all of our guests will be able to enjoy the Hilton Hawaiian Village fireworks, which have become a tradition in Waikiki."

Gibson added that it's not just Hilton guests enjoy the fireworks. "We know that the visitors up and down Waikiki Beach look forward to seeing the fireworks," said Gibson. "In addition to visitors, we also see a lot of residents picnicking on Duke Kahanamoku Beach on Fridays to watch the show."

The fireworks originally started in 1988 to celebrate the completion of the Hilton Hawaiian Village's $100 million "Return to Paradise" Master Plan. Since then, the fireworks, which are visible as far as East Oahu and the hills above Honolulu, have been enjoyed by millions of spectators.

The Rockin' Hawaiian Rainbow Review is offered every Friday evening at 7 p.m. and features the ladies and gentlemen of Tihati Productions in an exciting look into the golden age of Hawaiian music, including a tribute to Duke Kahanamoku. A crescendo of torch lights and drums climax with the spectacular fireworks display at 7:45 p.m. The $20 entrance fee includes a Mai Tai punch cocktail and seating at the Super Pool. The Fireworks Spectacular on Tuesday nights will start at 7:45 p.m. at the Super Pool followed by the fireworks at 8 p.m.

There is no admission charge for the Tuesday night show. For information, visit www.hiltonhawaiianvillage.com.
