New Training Manager Is A First For The Hotel

GLASGOW, UK -  Glasgow's landmark international hotel, Hilton Glasgow, has appointed Louise Heritage as its first ever Training Manager to reflect its continued investment in developing its staff.

Louise, 28, joins the hotel following a widely varied career in the hospitality industry bringing over ten years experience to the post. Louise's role involves identifying training requirements in direct response to the business needs which will include functional skills, product knowledge, brand service standards, management or competency based training needs and individual career development. Hotel team members will benefit from an extensive programme involving leadership courses, complaint handling workshops and diversity training. In addition, Louise will also be a key participant in inducting new staff members as part of Hilton's four stage orientation and induction process.

A first class honours graduate of D.I.T., Cathal Brugha Street and Trinity College, Dublin, Louise spent four years with Choice Hotels in Ireland working in a number of roles, including PA to the Chief Operating Officer, before traveling around the world. The role involved extensive project management and event management as well as developing her communication and planning skills and hotel management experience. Prior to that Louise worked in hospitality recruitment and HR consultancy in Dublin.

Her knowledge of the hospitality industry is enviable having spent time lecturing students at Griffith College Dublin in Tourism and Hospitality as well as regularly contributing restaurant reviews, industry interviews and features to industry publications and websites.

Louise will be responsible for all areas of training, including course design and instruction. She will focus on developing and implementing forward thinking training with customer service being the focal point, alongside the softer skills such as team building and time management.

I am really looking forward to working with Craig and his team to improve and maintain the high standards people have come to expect from Hilton Glasgow."

A qualified scuba diver and keen food and wine enthusiast, Louise has also spent time behind the counter having trained as a chef at the Ballymaloe Cookery School under the direction of Irish TV celebrity chef, Darina Allen.
