Hilton Durban Strengthens Its Conference And Events Team

DURBAN, South Africa - Hilton Durban today announced the appointment of Nathalie van Leeuwen as its Groups, Conference and Events Manager responsible for the overall event management operation at the hotel.

Mohamed Hamza, general manager at Hilton Durban said, "Nathalie's appointment follows the increased demand from the market. We have experienced a high requisite for large and small scale events at the hotel and her appointment was imperative in order to meet the ongoing requirements of our guests."

Netherlands-born Nathalie has extensive experience in the hospitality industry having worked in hotels as both an Event Planning Executive and Assistant Conference and Events Manager at locations including Switzerland and the Netherlands. She joins the team at Hilton Durban from Switzerland, where she worked at Hilton Zurich Airport.

"The latest MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index listed Durban as the fastest growing city in Africa for both visitor numbers and expenditure and, one of the second fastest growing cities of those surveyed, in the world. We want to stay ahead of the trend and focus on investing in our resources and Nathalie's appointment is part of that strategy," said Hamza.
